Cyrus Mistry, the man
tapped as the next chairman of India's Tata Group. Mr. Mistry, 43 years old, is
the son of a construction baron who is the largest shareholder in Tata Sons the
holding company for the Tata Group's wide-ranging interests that include steel,
autos, power, hospitality and telecom.
Mr. Mistry, a Mumbai
native, studied civil engineering at Imperial College in London and management
at London Business School before going full-time into Shapoorji Pallonji &
Co., the family construction business. His father, Pallonji Mistry, is the
largest shareholder in Tata Sons with a roughly 18% stake and has an estimated net
worth of $7.6 billion,according to Forbes.
